Borba protiv govora mržnje (Hate Bot Analysis 2023)

In 2023, Neutrinos IT Association launched the Hate Bot Analysis project, focused on identifying and analyzing hate speech propagated through bot networks on social media platforms, particularly on Twitter. This project aimed to explore how automated accounts and coordinated bot networks manipulate public content, contributing to the spread of hate speech and polarization on socially and politically significant topics.

The project included advanced data analysis using machine learning and pattern recognition tools to identify bots and their coordinated actions aimed at spreading hate and negative content. Through research, the Neutrinos IT Association team analyzed specific techniques used in creating and managing these networks, such as algorithms for generating automated responses, interaction strategies, and amplifying content related to sensitive topics, including political campaigns, nationalist messages, and polarizing social discourses.

The project’s findings revealed that bot networks are often pivotal in shaping public perception, artificially increasing the visibility of hate speech through viral posts and targeted campaigns. Hate Bot Analysis laid the foundation for further research in digital security and social responsibility, contributing to the development of tools and strategies to counteract the harmful impact of bots and protect the digital space from hate speech.
